All this talk about game creation and innovation is certainly getting me pumped up for ScreenBurn Arcade's annual set of panels, including our friends over at Gendai Games who will be holding the panel “Anyone Can Create a Videogame!” Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Room 6 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Michael Agustin of Gendai will lead the discussion about how game design can be accessible to anyone, how user-created games can appeal to those who would rather consume than create, and also give an extensive demo of Gamesalad, the game creation software where programming isn't needed!
The ScreenBurn at SXSW Game Design Competition will most certainly pique the interest of content creators out there, which provides a venue for designers to pitch their ideas to a jury of established professionals. Grand prize winners for the categories of AAA and Casual gaming will be decided by both jury vote and audience feedback. Winners will be featured Monday, March 16 at SXSW’s on-site interview studio, Studio SX, in a conversation with a video game industry professional.
It's exciting to see the creative juices of our industry start to flow! For more information on ScreenBurn at SXSW Interactive and the ScreenBurn at SXSW Game Design Competition, contact Lindsay Muse.
